texty
A little printer at home.
Friends leave you notes. They're waiting on paper when you get home.
Typed, doodled or a photo, sent from a phone and printed on a little thermal printer on your shelf. No feed, no likes, nothing to scroll.
Just unboxed one? The setup guide has every step. Already have an account? Log in on this phone.
How it works
What's inside, and how a note travels- 1
Plug it in
Texty prints a QR code. Scan it, pick your WiFi, and it's yours. About five minutes, no app store.

Invite your people
Share a link or a QR code. Friends join with just their name: no password, no email address.

Notes arrive on paper
They write, doodle or snap a photo on their phone. It prints at your place, even when nobody's home.
Small things, on paper
A note on the kitchen counter feels different from another notification. Texty keeps it that way, and adds a few ways to play.
Notes, drawings, photos and stickers
Type a few words, doodle with a finger or send a photo. The preview shows exactly what will print.
Games on paper
Battleship, Connect Four, tic-tac-toe, hangman, draw & guess. Every move prints on the other player's Texty.
Morning slip
Weather, the date and the question of the day, waiting for you with your coffee.
Channels
Follow a friend's channel, like a daily doodle or the family news, and get the posts on paper.
Secret notesNew
A note that only exists on paper. It never shows up in the app and is deleted from the server once it's printed.
Quiet hours
Nothing prints at night. Notes wait politely and come out in the morning.
A heart button
Press the red ♥ on your Texty after reading a note, and the sender sees that it made you smile.
Groups and later
Write to the whole family at once, or schedule a note for tonight at six.
Give it a face
Twenty die-cut stickers for the printer lid. The paper slot becomes the mouth, so every note comes out like a tongue. Tap one to try it on, or design your own.
Safe to put on your WiFi
It's a guest in your home, and it behaves like one.
Security & privacy in detailNo open ports
Texty only calls out, over encrypted HTTPS, to one server. Nothing on your network or the internet can connect to it.
Signed updates
It updates itself and refuses any software that isn't digitally signed by the person who runs Texty.
Very little data
Your name, your friends and your notes. No email, no password, no phone number. Note images are deleted after 90 days.
Questions
All questions and answersWhich WiFi does it need?
A 2.4 GHz WiFi network with a password, like almost every home router has. If your router shows one name for 2.4 and 5 GHz, that's fine. 5 GHz-only networks and WiFi with a sign-in page (hotels, cafés, some dorms) don't work.
Can friends without a Texty send me notes?
Yes. Anyone you invite can write to your Texty from their phone. They only need a Texty themselves if they want notes on paper too.
Can the people running Texty read my notes?
Honest answer: notes travel encrypted, but they are stored on the Texty server so they can wait for your Texty and show up in your history. Whoever runs the server could technically see them. Note images are deleted 90 days after printing. Secret notes are different: they're end-to-end encrypted to your Texty's own key, so nobody else can read them, not even whoever runs Texty. They never show up in the app and are deleted as soon as they're printed. More on the security & privacy page.
What happens if the Texty server goes away?
Texty is a small project run by one person, so this is a fair question. Without the server, notes can't reach your Texty. The printer itself keeps working with its own phone app. If Texty ever shuts down, the plan is to say so well in advance and share what you need to run your own server; the Texty can be pointed at another server with a USB cable.
